Ernest was on board a Lancaster Bomber which exploded and crashed near Berlin.He is buried in the Berlin 1939-45 War Cemetery.His father had seen brief service in WW1, and also served in WW2, surviving Dunkirk and D-Day. His son was not so lucky.
